A Taranaki woman has been selected for an adventure of a lifetime. But first she has to raise $10,000.
Rebecca Dearden has been selected for an upcoming TV reality show called Adventure All Stars, which pushes contestants to have the ultimate adventure around the country.
Before filming, each contestant has 10 months to raise $10,000 for a charity.
The Inglewood mum decided to apply for the show after an email popped into her inbox last year from Keep New Zealand Beautiful to see if anyone wanted to represent them.

“For the last 10 years I've organised Keep New Zealand Beautiful clean-up weeks for the staff,' the environment manager for PowerCo said.
“And I just thought, why not put my name out there and see what happens and have the experience of seeing different parts of New Zealand and do stuff that I may not necessarily do myself, and at the same time do some good for the community and raise funds for an organisation.'
The show will be filmed in a week and contestants will have no idea where they are going or what they will be doing until the day it starts.

But Dearden still has five more months to raise the $10,000 needed for her charity. So far she’s raised $2,500.

On March 12 and 13 she is hosting big screen movie nights with food trucks in Waitara.
Tickets will be $10 and $35 for a family of four. They will go on sale through Trybooking.com once the movies are selected and the licence to publicly screen is approved, she said.

Then, on April 17 she's hosting a casino night and auction at the New Plymouth Club.
It will feature casino-style games played with Monopoly type money.
A $50 ticket will include supper, a stake of play money for the casino, one drink and the opportunity to bid on the auction items, which include a Commonwealth Games jersey from rugby sevens Michaela Blyde
This event is live now for ticket sales, and she hoped the community would get behind her.
